I purchased this book thinking it was about how to play American 9 wicket backyard croquet. It is not. The author's language is confusing using terms of Association Croquet (English). This is a confusing book for any beginning player.P.S. take a look at reviews in the Amazon UK website for this book where it was written. As one reviewer said in part, "Anyone stumbling on this book hoping to learn about croquet will end up confused, frustrated and more than a century out of date." It would be interesting to know who Andy Tooken really is. I would agree with a reviewer from the UK don't waste you money on this book.
